According to a tweet from Netflix, the Obamas will produce films and series for Netflix, which could include scripted series, unscripted series, docu-series, documentaries and features.

Netflix did not elaborate on the terms of the agreement.

"One of the simple joys of our time in public service was getting to meet so many fascinating people from all walks of life, and to help them share their experiences with a wider audience," former President Obama said in a statement obtained by The Chicago Tribune. "That's why Michelle and I are so excited to partner with Netflix -- we hope to cultivate and curate the talented, inspiring, creative voices who are able to promote greater empathy and understanding between peoples, and help them share their stories with the entire world."

Added his wife, Michelle Obama: "Barack and I have always believed in the power of storytelling to inspire us, to make us think differently about the world around us, and to help us open our minds and hearts to others," said Michelle Obama. "Netflix's unparalleled service is a natural fit for the kinds of stories we want to share, and we look forward to starting this exciting new partnership."

This is not the first deal the Obamas have signed since they left the White House in early 2017. That February, Penguin Random House announced that the company would publish books by both Barack and Michelle Obama. Though Penguin Random House did not provide details of their contract with the Obamas, it has been reported that the rights were reportedly purchased for $60 million.

What are their credentials to be producers? I know the occupation does not require as much technical knowledge as a director but I would think some knowledge is necessary.

I wish Obama would host a free progressive radio talk show to counter the limitless free conservative radio talk shows currently so plentiful over the airwaves. So many radio stations broadcast those conservative radio talk shows many, many hours every day with no opportunities for rebuttal from the progressive side make Americans familiar of only half of the stories.

I can't wait for these, I suggest titles such as:
1.If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor.
    2. If you created a successful business you did not create that.
    3. Iran does not have a weapons program, and this will keep us safe.
    4. No state actor can effect America's elections so stop whining Trump.
    5. Hillary is the best presidential candidate ever, even though I beat her.
    6. I won the election so it is to the back of the bus for the Republicans.
    7. My presidential term was scandle free.
    8. He could be my son.

And for Michelle one awesome soul searching title of:
I was never proud of America until my husband won the election.

I am cancelling my Netflix. They give criminals a forum and that is just wrong on many fronts.

I think the ex-president and family going show biz is tacky and greedy.

It's commendable what the Obama’s are doing, but, at the end of the day, while it’s an honorable task to help people with talent to cultivate their inspiration and creative voices, for the ultimate purpose of promoting greater empathy and understanding between people, the Obama’s forget that humanity is dead in trespasses (Eph. 2:1). Bereft of redemptive illumination, humanity who continue in their rebellion and estrangement from this illumination, are ultimately, we are told, turned over to deluding influences to believe what is false (2 Thess. 2:11). As such, I fear that while it’s appealing on the surface, the endeavor misses the mark for it doesn’t reveal the true and deeper heart condition of man and his errant wisdom.

“This wisdom is not that which comes from above…..” (James 3:13-18)

The Obama's on television? This might be enough to push trump over the edge. I hope they win a Grammy so I can watch trump's head explode!

No wonder why all the past presidents get along so well after they get out of office- they hang out at the same country clubs and swanky restaurants.....
